60th PARTY IDEAS

There are many Themed Party ideas for celebrating a 60th Birthday. From Fun, Elegant to Dressing up for a 60’s theme, Masquerade or simply choosing a colour theme i.e. Black&White etc. Why not a “This Is Your Life” themed party using one central idea, such as music or television, and dedicate each guests’ table to a different decade of that theme.

Table Ideas such as “Music Through the Decades” theme. ’40s big band/swing, such as “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” Another table ’50s do-wop music, ’60s is the “Age of Aquarius”, ’70s is disco, etc. Put a centrepiece on each table with a big music note on it, along with a small banner with the name of a popular song that defines the decade. Scatter symbols that define each decade by bands such as Elvis, the Beatles, the Doors, etc.

What about “Television Through the Decades” theme. Ozzie and Harriet, I Love Lucy, Leave It To Beaver, etc. A centrepiece such as a decorated box to look like a TV, print out a still photo from the TV shows, and glue them on to the TV.
You can do a Fashion Through the Decades theme (poodle skirts, bell bottoms, etc.) or a Sports Heroes Through the Decades theme.

Request that guests send copies of favourite pictures of themselves with the birthday person. These can be sent ahead of time and a collage made for a photo or scrapbook to present to the birthday person at the party.
